Air Traffic Services (ATS) Message Handling Services (AMHS) is the new International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standard for ground to ground message communications that supersedes the older Aeronautical Fixed Telecommunication Network (AFTN) and Common ICAO Data Interchange Network (CIDIN) standards
In order to minimize development cost and risk, NetSys utilizes the Isode AMHS Integration library that is designed for use by vendors building solutions for the aviation industry; it is used to connect the NetSys Message Handling System (nsMHS) to a Message Transfer Agent (MTA) using the P3 protocol which is appropriate for the NetSys message switch access because it needs to send and receive messages and deal with message storage as a part of the application. The P3 and P7 protocols can operate either over TCP (RFC 1006) or over a SARPS conformant OSI stack.
